ACC and Insurance Cover

Can ACC help with the cost of my treatment?
The Accident Compensation Corporation's no-fault scheme can help with the costs of a wide range of treatments for people injured in an accident that occurs in New Zealand. New Zealand residents returning from overseas with an injury can also receive assistance with the costs of treatment.

The ACC scheme covers many different injuries, including those that occur while playing sports, during recreation or while at work or home. In many cases physiotherapy, acupuncture and some of the other treatments we offer can be partially paid for by ACC cover.

If you wish to make an ACC claim, we can provide you with a form to complete when you arrive for your first treatment. We can then submit your claim for you.

ACC will cover part of the cost of your treatments if your claim is accepted. The ACC scheme does not meet the full cost of your treatment so please bear in mind that there will be a part charge for you to pay.

You do not need to see a doctor unless you require a medical certificate for your employer.
We are able to refer you for x-rays and ultrasound scans and to other specialists if required.

Can my medical insurance cover treatment?
Some medical insurance policies cover physiotherapy and related treatments. If you are not covered by ACC or would prefer to claim through your medical insurance, we can issue full receipts to meet the requirements of your insurer.
